LG has proven that they won’t back down anytime soon from the production of high end droid phones fit to compete with other respective brands in the market. Just last year LG gave the Samsung AMOLED technology a shocker with their NOVA LG Optimus black screen that gave a brightness record up to 700 nits. The iPhone came close panting to this new screen resolution record.

Highlight Features:

  • Quad-core processor for heavy app lifting
  • A lighter weight compared to Optimus 2X
  • Full HD IPS Display

LG are hitting back once again, and though we had expected Super NOVA to succeed the NOVA, it was not the case. Nevertheless, the LG Optimus 4X HD manages to leap right back to the market with a Quad-core processing unit. Showing that they can actually graduate from Dual Core junior class to the platform of seniors.

Fresh from the box, the LG Optimus 4X HD measures about 132 by 68.1 by 8.9mm. This is explainable because the Optimus 4X is 0.7 inches longer than the Optimus 2X which comes close at 4 inches. Comparing weights side by side, the LG Optimus 4X weighs 133g which is way lighter than Optimus 2X which was 6g heavier.

This truly shows that LG took their notes seriously and decidedly to design something bigger and better from the 2X Optimus. The design appearance changed as well with the 4X Optimus taking a strict rectangular shape with sharp edges. The bottom touch capacitive buttons have been reduced to three and are still conveniently far apart to avoid any pressing the wrong buttons.

It’s true a dream of the Super NOVA was expected with the LG Optimus black. But LG was clever enough to keep us in suspense but they were still generous enough to offer a full HD IPS LCD display, touch capacitive with 16M colors to boast of. The resolution quality has also been stepped up to 720 by 1280 pixels. The Optimus black is bigger, brighter with high screen resolutions unimagined.

So now video and picture viewing is highly defined with side angle views also taken care of. Last year we were treated to the delight of an 8 megapixel camera which capture HQ videos and qualities highlighting life’s best moments. Well, LG decided to treat us to the same 8MP experience complete with face/smile detection, geo-tagging, image stabilizer and touch focus. The front 1.3MP camera was also maintained meaning we can still Skype or video call our friends whenever we want.

As a droid phone, LG really gave this Smartphone the right tweaks to compete with the current heavy hitters in the market. We know Samsung dazzled us with their almost human Galaxy S3 and iPhone have a version 5 secret weapon in the making. Nevertheless, the LG Optimus black still stands the test of time being highly current with the latest android platform; v4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. Adding to this is a quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU that processes at 1.5GHz speeds.

A little more about the quad-core processor; it’s still the Tegra version behind the wheels but this time they add 2 more Core buddies to the job. This is a stroke of genius from LG since now the Smartphone is capable of handling all the heavy apps and that last Core processor is the right addition to handle low key computing. With such speeds running in the CPU, the LG Optimus 4X is not a phone to put on a leach but find it plenty of room to gallop.

Running the latest version of android means you don’t have to go searching for upgrades. Now you only need to focus on the android market where all your latest apps can be downloaded. Mobile Google services are available on the phone plus useful web shortcuts like You Tube, Google Talk and SNS integration.

With the LG Optimus 4X in your hands, you no longer have to struggle with your words. The Smartphone is equipped with predictive text input which reads your mind and knows which word you want to use. You can equate this to the Samsung Swype technology which is just as effective. You can also activate voice commands plus edit all your documents whenever you want thanks to the built in editor.

And we cannot forget how important entertainment is to you. LG didn’t forget that as well so they gave you a neat LG Optimus 4X that packs various audio and video supports like MP3, MP4, DivX, Xvid, WMV, WAV and WMA. It can practically play most videos and audio feeds pretty well.

We know the dust blown by the Samsung Galaxy S3 is yet to settle, but why not have the LG Optimus 4X HD Smartphone while at it. The best thing about it is that it comes with all the necessary apps and features for both business and leisure. Plus it fetches at a price lower than most Smartphones in its range making it just as relevant to embrace the droid world with.
